With the rapid development of online shopping, logistics delivery has become a critical factor influencing customer satisfaction. This study focuses on comparing the timeliness and accuracy of logistics delivery between reselling platforms and traditional e-commerce shopping platforms.
Reselling platforms, often operated by individual resellers, and traditional e-commerce platforms, such as Amazon or JD.com, have distinct operational models. The differences in their logistics systems significantly impact delivery speed and accuracy.
Data was collected from 500 orders on reselling platforms and 500 orders on e-commerce platforms. Metrics such as delivery time, on-time delivery rate, and error rates (e.g., wrong items or missing packages) were analyzed.
The study revealed that traditional e-commerce platforms generally outperform reselling platforms in terms of both timeliness and accuracy. On average, e-commerce platforms delivered packages within 2-3 days with a 98% accuracy rate, while reselling platforms took 5 My days with a 90% accuracy rate.
E-commerce platforms benefit from established logistics networks and automated systems, enabling faster processing and delivery. In contrast, reselling platforms rely on third-party logistics, which often results in delays.
The centralized inventory management of e-commerce platforms ensures higher accuracy in order fulfillment. Reselling platforms, which depend on multiple suppliers, face challenges in maintaining consistency.
While reselling platforms offer unique products often unavailable on traditional e-commerce platforms, their logistics systems lag in delivering timely and accurate services. Improving logistics partnerships and adopting advanced inventory management systems could help bridge this gap.
